EU, Kazakhstan Start Talks on Visa Facilitation, Readmission Deals
The announcement emerged from Monday's 22nd EU-Kazakhstan Cooperation Council session in Brussels, according to an EU Council statement.
These discussions coincide with the tenth anniversary of the EU and Kazakhstan's Enhanced Partnership and Cooperation Agreement.
Council participants assessed advancement under the existing partnership framework and identified key priorities, encompassing transport links, commercial and economic relations, and collaboration on strategic raw materials.
Delegates also examined Kazakhstan's evolving domestic and constitutional reforms while addressing justice, home affairs, human rights, gender parity, and rule of law concerns.
Regional and global developments, including sanctions-related matters, featured prominently in discussions.
Both the EU and Kazakhstan reaffirmed their commitment to bolstering bilateral engagement across vital sectors as visa facilitation and readmission negotiations advance.
